The Dance

Last Saturday was the Sadie Hawkins dance at middle daughter's high school.  She asked this tall young gentleman.  The youngest thinks he looks like Justin Bieber. He has been a part of her group of friends since freshman year.  They went as part of a bigger group and had a good time.  She had her hair unbraided and curled and she looked lovely!

Thinking Day

Last Saturday the Girl Scouts had their International Thinking Day. It will be the last for middle daughter.  Her troop focused on Norway.  The girls have a lot of fun together and they'll be going on a trip over the upcoming long weekend.

The youngest's troop presented Japan.  The overall theme was superheroes.  Their's was Kimono Kim.  I'm not sure if the creative leader came up with her.  Everything was darling.  How nice that the leader has a neighbor from Japan who had clothes for the girls to wear.  The snack they contributed was a little rice krispie bar with a Swedish  Japanese fish secured to the top with a fruit roll-up strip.
Fun times! This weekend cookie sales start.  Be sure to support the girls.  If you don't want to eat the cookies yourself, ask about the donation program.  Have a good weekend!

Fairy Gardens and Gnome Homes

This past weekend the girls and I made it twice to see the charming new display at the arboretum.  Here the girls are sitting on toadstools.  Most of the pictures need no explanation.

This is the view from the back of the gnome drive-in theater.  See the log seats?  We also managed to fit in a sleepover at our house and The Muppet Movie.  The movie was really good, but my expectations were even higher.  Amy Adams sure does the cute, perky girl next door well.

Picnik Fun

We had a great weekend and I have some more pictures that I could post, but meanwhile here are a few that I had fun creating on Picnik.  I am so sad that it is closing.
