In the evening we went to see Peter Pan at our local outdoor amphitheater. We have seen many musicals here by the local theater group over the years including Oklahoma, Annie Get Your Gun and Oliver. All of them have been great and Peter Pan was no exception. I'm not sure what my favorite part was--I liked everything!

More Musicals
In the evening we went to see Peter Pan at our local outdoor amphitheater. We have seen many musicals here by the local theater group over the years including Oklahoma, Annie Get Your Gun and Oliver. Sweet Pistachio Bread

1 tsp. ground nutmeg
2 tsps. ground cinnamon
6 Tbsps. sugar
One 18-oz. pkg. yellow cake mix
One 3-oz. box instant pistachio pudding mix
1/2 cup vegetable oil
4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease two 8 x 4-inch loaf pans.
- Combine the nutmeg, cinnamon, and 2 Tbsps. of the sugar in a small bowl.
- Combine the remaining 4 Tbsps. sugar, the cake mix, pudding mix, oil, eggs, 1/2 cup water, and the sour cream in a large bowl; mix well.
- Pour half the batter into the prepared pans. Sprinkle the cinnamon mixture on top. Pour in the remaining batter. Bake for 45 minutes.
I made this tasty treat this week. It is good and sweet as the name states. It might be a nice bread to make as a gift at Christmas time. I'm wondering how it might be made with different flavors of pudding and/or cake mix. Three out of the five of us like this so it was pretty successful!
We also had brownie bites and snickerdoodles this week made by my middle daughter who enjoys working in the kitchen. The brownie bites were a brownie mix baked in a mini-muffin pan. Yummy!

Weekend Fun and Godspell

I remember always being fascinated by the story of Amelia Earhart when I was younger. I still am! It is nice to have an action-packed movie without shooting, car crashes and bombs. The girls haven't been to the Smithsonian so now at least one has had a glimpse of what it is like. All in all a good movie.

Who Needs Perfection?
Welcome to my very own blog and first post! I think I have been overwhelmed by thoughts of this momentous event. I know you won't be too hard on me if the picture is small and a little fuzzy and the words aren't prizeworthy.
Summer is finally here marked by the last day of school and the annual dance recital. The picture above represents a total of 31 years of dance lessons (and tuition : ) Crazy, huh? This year all three girls were in the same recital. It was nice to have so many numbers in one recital include someone near and dear. They all did very well after a year of hard work!
I am sure the days are going to fly by especially since it is my oldest daughter's last summer before graduating from high school *sniff-sniff*. I have lots of ideas, but not many plans. Stay tuned...
