The Science Museum

First, here are a few random pictures. Sledding and
Eating Leann Chin on New Year's Eve.
The kids (ok, they were all kids just the blink of an eye ago) that were here on New Year's Day.
Ok, now the Science Museum. We joined this weekend because it just makes sense when you have a family our size.  Two visits and you've exceeded the membership cost.  We wanted to see the Hubble Telescope omni movie for my husband's birthday which was Thursday.  He loves astronomy. Since we were there, we looked around.  The photo above is of the youngest figuring out how to construct a foil boat that will hold the most pennies without sinking.  You'll have to read to the end to get the answer!
Here the girls are in the cabin of a boat that was deconstructed and then reconstructed at the museum. It looks out on, you guessed it, the Mighty Mississippi.
The body exhibit includes this equipment to look in your partner's eyes.
There is a collectors' corner.  You can bring items from nature and talk about them to volunteers to earn points.  You can then use your points to obtain other cool items from nature such as rocks and shells.  The youngest was just riveted to the area and you could hear her wheels turning! This was in the area--The Hard Rock Cafe.  Look closely.  There was also a display with vials of sand that people have brought from all over the world.

I do get a kick out of some signs.  This sign was for an exhibit that was put together and that traveled.  It is now back at the museum.  It is about prehistoric bones that were found on a ranch in North Dakota.

We didn't get to see the Hubble movie on Saturday, but we were able to see an African Safari movie that was awesome.  We got advance tickets to Hubble for Sunday.  If we could travel as fast as the Hubble Telescope, we'd be able to go across the U.S.A. in 10 minutes!  Omnifest is going on until mid-February.  We hope to get back to the museum many times in the next year.

The answer:  A rectangular shape with walls.
