2011 State Fair

No visit is complete without a tour of the barns.

We always stop to play the moolette wheel.

This year we spent a short time in the Midway.

Of course you have to keep up your strength by eating, preferably something on a stick.

I thought this was hysterical. I also got a tube of Mustard Mouth. They were given out by the newspaper.

Even though the girls are too old they always like to build.

The snow seems to be missing!

We caught the parade. This band did a great job playing a song from Phantom of the Opera. Do you see the phantom?

We took a tour through the Creative Activities building--all of us.  Yes, I got the rest of the family to look at sewing and knitting.  Unfortunately, not many good pictures through the glass.

On to the Fine Arts building.

Last year for Little Farm Hands.

Business wasn't booming at this place. Does that mean people like to eat food on sticks?

These pictures are crop art made from grain.  It is amazing!

One last look at the crowds and general chaos. We went on the Sunday before Labor Day.  It was a nice cool day and, I think, one of the best years ever! Less than 365 days until we return.
