Spring Break

Since I'm a SAHM at the moment, we kept spring break spending to a minimum, but it was still enjoyable.  We toured this potential college for our middle daughter who still has some high school left.  It was nice and it would probably be a good fit since it isn't huge and offers the degree program that she is interested in.  A plus--the great ice cream made at the college from the cows on the farm there.  Minuses--no tunnels to walk between buildings in the winter and teeny, tiny dorm rooms.

The following day found us at the zoo with my sister-in-law and twenty month old niece.  What a cutie she is!  We got there a little early and so fooled around browsed in the gift shop.  It was a beautiful day!  My niece did great (and so did we)!

There were of course sleepovers and movie marathons.  One day the youngest had a friend over from early in the morning when his mom headed to work until in the evening.  After cookie baking, dog walking and game playing, we headed to watch a family friend participate in a track meet.  She does discus and pole vaulting.  It was fun to watch her.

This picture and the one above are from warm-ups so there is no cross bar as there is below.  She threw the discus 86' and vaulted 8'.  Her personal record for vaulting is 8'6".

We went for a couple of lake walks.
Here we have signs of spring together with leftovers from fall and winter.

Both the youngest and middle daughter got haircuts. Finally!  They had been wanting them for sometime.  They were quite happy.

And then it was Monday and back to school.  The rest of the school year will fly by.  One more thing that is very noteworthy is that the girl above earned her Girl Scout Gold Award.  It is a big accomplishment.  She formed a book club for 3rd through 5th graders at our church.  She has planned and held meetings once a month other than during December.  It turned out to be an all girls club.  Attendance has been good.  We are so proud of her and look forward to the ceremony where she gets her award presented next month!

I hope you are enjoying spring wherever you are!
