More Summer Fun

After our return from Itasca, the youngest and oldest went for another week of Beauty and the Beast camp at the dance studio. The oldest helped the younger kids again and really seemed to enjoy it. We have been encouraging her to consider teaching as a profession. This time the youngest was a silly girl and a feather duster. She had a few lines. She also got to move props and throw a rubber chicken!
The picture below is after she was transformed from a feather duster to a person so she does not have the big feather in her hair anymore.
At the end of the week, our middle daughter had a Christmas in July party for a few friends. They played a couple of games including one where the names of Christmas carols had to be deciphered and the dice game. The girls were the nice calm ones and so there was no cut-throat action with the dice game. Dinner was a lot of red and green food. Later they watched Elf and made beaded Christmas ornaments before decorating cookies and calling it a night. Below is the youngest ready for the party. Maybe it will be a tradition.
This past week the middle daughter was at church camp. The youngest was at a fairy camp where she had to do good deeds to earn wings and a wand. She also received fairy correspondence at the pink mushroom mailbox. The oldest taught Vacation Church School to about 13 three and a half year olds.
I have no pictures, but on Thursday afternoon the youngest and I met friends at American Girl Place. We were there for 2 1/2 hours before I even realized it. It was really fun, but costly when all was said and done. The food was good and I didn't think it was too expensive for the quantity. I had a fruit platter and salmon with potatoes and vegetables. Josefina's hair was styled to bring it back under control. It had been brushed with a non-wig brush and was a disaster. Josefina now has a flute! I would like to purchase a few of the crafty/cooking books that have cute ideas. I'll have to wait until the budget recovers!
